The Canadian International School of Guangzhou (CIS) offers an Early Childhood to Grade 12 education based on the Canadian (Alberta) curriculum. CIS is the first K-12 school that has been accredited by Alberta Education, and we are also an IB PYP Candidate School. We welcome all international families with children aged 2-17 to apply for immediate enrolment.

*Age definition: Students will be enrolled based on their age as of September 1st.

Admission Procedures

STEP 1

Contact Admissions to complete an Application Form or make a school tour appointment.联系招生办填写报名表或预约探校

STEP 2

Submit the application documents; Pay application processing fee; and confirm your appointment for an assessment.提交入学申请资料，缴纳报名受理费，预约入学测试

STEP 3

One-on-one interview and assessment(in English).接受一对一英文入学测试（面试及笔试）For families that are currently outside of Guangzhou,assessment and interview will be conducted online.目前不在广州的申请者可进行线上入学测试

STEP 4

Receive assessment results/offer letter.收到测试结果/录取信

STEP 5

Complete payment and secure placement.缴纳学费，确认学位

Admissions Criteria

学术标准

The key objective of our school"s admissions policy is to ensure students are able to achieve individual academic success and develop their holistic mindset through participating in the CIS school life. As a true international school, the main language of instruction is English. The academic English level of the applicant is a determining factor, though other factors such as behavior, work ethic, past academic achievement and the different expectations in different division levels also play a role in the decision to accept a student or not.

The Admissions Test will be conducted by a member of the school leadership team, in consultation with academic team members, and with the assistance of our Admissions Office. Once you submit the Application Form and paid relevant fees, our admissions officers will help make an appointment (on campus or online) for the test.

*This policy applies to new families joining CIS in school year 2024-2025. CIS reserved the right to change the current fee standard. Please contact the school for any questions or details in full tuition fees and refund policy.

Sibling & CIEO Discounts: Families with two or more children, or students who are CIEO graduates, can enjoy a 5% discount off on basic tuition fees (excluding other fees such as ELL support, uniforms, boarding, bus, meals, material, insurance and experiential learning program, etc).

* Meals include healthy morning snacks, lunch and afternoon snacks, as well as breakfast for Early Childhood Education to Kindergarten.

* New students: Please purchase one full set of school uniforms.

* New students from PreK 2-4 and new dorm students need to buy a whole pack of bedding.

* ELL support is determined after the initial assessment.
